Can laser improve my skin scars after kenalog injections?

Question

I had four kenalog injections for a keloid.Although it has flattened my skin texture is still puckered dark and overall looking terrible. One derm told me that CO2 will work well but the skin will turn very dark and I have to purchase expensive creams after.What other laser/anything else would be beneficial to me?

This can be improved with a combination of Cosmelan, lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question.  This is PIH which will typically best respond to some combination of Hydroquinone and Tretinoin to prime the skin for a few months and then combinations of Pico Nd:Yag 1064 and chemical peels.  If left alone it should also continue to improve on its own over time, but the topicals in combination with lasers and peels can expedite the process.  Kind Regards, Dr. Matt Elias (Board Certified Dermatologist)

I can't see the texture well but can see PIH. This is usually treated with hydroquinone, retin a, and chemical peels. Lasers on your skin tone in that area are prone to PIH but a 1064 laser might be of benefit too.
