I'm doing J-Plasma on my abdomen to help tighten skin along with minor amounts of SAFE lipo in my hips, abdomen and inner thigh. My dr. said he only does J-Plasma in areas that he also SAFE Lipos. I'm worried that if he liposuctions in my stomach and uses J-Plasma that my skin will be just as loose as it is now. note: I know a TT will be needed eventually but I'm avoiding the scar until better technology comes out or I'm in my 40's
Answer: Best approach to tightening with #Renuvion (fka #JPlasma) Hi lmk042. The use of tumescent solution is necessary whenever using the Renuvion (formerly known as J Plasma) device, and is also the first step preceeding liposuction. Because the radiofrequency powered helium plasma technology of Renuvion targets the fibrous bands, a little bit of fat removal helps to uncover/reveal the bands, as well as clear the undersurface of the dermis for an additional amount of tightenign. You don't appear to have enough fat there to cause more loose skin-more than likely, it will just make the tightening more effective. Best wishes on your procedure!-Dr. Doolabh

Answer: Lipo3 Candidate - VASER HD, J Plasma/Renuvion/Inmode BodyTite tightening, fat grafting for buttock lift/BBL, Cellfina/Sculptra yes you can do j plasma alone in patients who do not have fat. I was one of first to use this device internally and we do this frequently for tightening only. you are more of a candidate for morpheus, trusculpt flex, and peptide therapy (see link) long term to maintain. you need a more comprehensive long term approach. my whole practice is doing lipoabdominoplasty, or at least liposuction with internal heating (which is not the gold standard for skin tightening with body contouring). the smaller you are before liposuction the more contouring you can get from the procedure. most of my liposuction patients get pre and post surgical optimization with hormonal therapy (see link to help boost their weight loss before surgery and help them heal after). You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring. Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty). Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. Answer: J plasma and Liposuction The cannula used for J plasma is hard to pass through solid tissue. Because of this it works much better if done after liposuction. I owned this equipment and purchased it about a year and a half ago. my first hand experience was that J plasma added zero skin tightening to any of the patients I tried it on. The patient has significantly increased postoperative pain and I have since sold the equipment writing it off as being fairly worthless. I don’t think you’re going to see any major breakthroughs in tummy tucks technology in your lifetime. That procedure really hasn’t changed since invented. This is true for scar management as well. With your fair skin your scar will probably fade very nicely given enough time. If you want a tight flat abdomen you should move forward and have a full tummy tuck. Choosing the right plastic surgeon makes all the difference in the world. Unfortunately there is no non-surgical skin tightening that actually works well. I was hoping J plasma would do some thing but from what I saw it didn’t even do that. FJ plasma is done without Liposuction you can force the cannula through solid fat but the chance of the cannula actually touching the back of the skin is highly unlikely. What’s more likely is that it just burns the fat. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
