12 days post op Septoplasty, I've been waking up with bad eye bags ever since. Could it be because of congestion? (photo)

12 days post op is still very recent.  A septoplasty, especially when performed at the same time as a rhinoplasty (aka septorhinoplasty) will often leave the periorbital tissues with swelling that can last for over a month.  Bags of fat above or below the eyes can be addressed with surgery (a blepharoplasty) but you should really see an ABPS board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the appropriate timing after nasal surgery - as some of this may improve somewhat with time and the settling of edema

Thanks for your question. The eye bags can certainly be related to your nasal congestion- I have the same problem! The blood supply from the inside of the nose drains through veins that also drain your orbits; extra blood from a congested nose can clog up the system a bit and lead to swelling of the eyelids. It also may be excess fat, but I can't tell for sure without examining you. Once you can get your congestion under control, they should improve. If not, you can always be evaluated for excess fat. Sometimes you can have fillers to disguise the bulging.
