Best method of removal/ least amount of scarring for a large mole above upper lip? (Photo)

I have had this my entire life and I feel that that's all that people look at. I want to get it removed but fear the large scar it might leave. Any suggestions on little to no scarring?

Since the mole on your upper lip is raised, I would recommend a shave excision.  This should remove the mole so that it is not protruding anymore, but it is possible that there still could be some pigment remaining.  If the pigment still bothers you, then you would need to have it excised later.

While shaving it down is certainly an option, a removal and special purse-string closure would virtually leave you without a scar. As always, important is sun avoidance for the first 4 months and/or use of sunscreen.

A simple shave removal of your mole would be the best place to start.  That procedure usually runs around $150. It will flatten the mole but the pigment will remain.  If you desire to get rid of all the pigment then a small elliptical excision can be done with a linear scar about 3x length of the mole.  That type of procedure usually costs around $500.
