Something happens if I have had the braces for 5 years?

I still have crossbite and my dentist just put me a few months ago all the braces, he´s friends with my dad so we don´t have to pay every time we go to the dentist, but I still think it´s been a really long time and not healthy.

Hi, brads21! Thanks for your question and pics. I see you still have baby canine teeth. Are your permanent canines impacted? It's rare to have missing upper canine teeth. If your upper permanent canines are severely impacted then, yes, it is sometimes recommended to have them removed...

When the braces are on and they are trying to pull the front teeth back to correct your overbite, they are actually pulling the back teeth forward as well.  (Like a tug of war)   All teeth move when the braces push or pull on them.  If the orthodontist wants some teeth to move...
