In  my opinion, side effects during clinical trials as well as post-marketing review failed to demonstrate hair loss with Lunesta or Ambien. However, various hair blogs have individuals who have reported these side effects. I would work with your physician who has prescribed the drug. Lunesta and Ambien should not, by itself cause hair loss but the warnings in some hair forums that suggest that there is an association should be noted.
