Mole growing larger on eyelid. Is there a way to get it removed? (photos)

The good news is that the mole appears to be in a great place for excision. It is difficult to say for certain based on only photographs, but in the photos it appears as if there is some excess skin along the upper lid, and that the mole is within that excess. If that is the case, you can have it excised with an incision similar to that used for an upper eyelid "tuck" or tightening (aka blepharoplasty). For symmetry, if you have excess skin on both upper lids, than you could have a similar skin excision on the opposite side. The incision used falls along the normal skin crease in the upper eyelid. Given that the mole is getting bigger and the borders are irregular, I would recommend excision before it continues to change.

Nita,Thanks for your question.A mole like this can typically be removed very easily under local with a small football shaped incision.While this will leave a small scar, it should only be a very fine line- difficult to see and easy to camouflage with make-up. I would have it removed and sent for pathology. You will trade a permanent scar. Dermatologists say their biggest fear is to miss a melanoma.
