Hello,Sunscreens are recommended for daily use (not just post-chemical peel treatment) because the destructive rays of the sun greatly affect the way a patient's skin ages (as well as subjecting them to dangerous skin cancers, and future damage). Fortunately, there are many sunscreens that are cosmetically elegant and are very pleasant to wear on a daily basis. My nurse, Annie Bruno, RN recommends that all patients use SkinMedica Total Defense + Repair SPF 34, or any of the PCA Skin Broad-Spectrum SPFs post- peel. The PCA Skin Weightless Protection feels as though you are not wearing anything at all, and this may be a good option for you. While wearing sunscreens may not always seem pleasant, there are options available and it is of most importance for your safety as well as preserving your new investment. Long story short- keep covered with a Broad Spectrum SPF, wear a hat while outdoors, and enjoy your freshly-peeled face! Keep safe and be well!Dr. Todd Hobgood, MD
