Is my temporary crown supposed to be this loose?

Question

Yesterday i had a root canal done which went well however the temp. crown they have put on is very loose, I mean i can feel it moving when I open my mouth. I have never had the problem with my old dentist, Is this something I should be concerned about and have checked out?

Temporary crown should hold the tooth stable during the time it take for the laboratory to finalize the making of your permanent.  Its important for it to have a solid fit and protect the supporting gum tissues in order for the ideal healing to occur around the gums.  It should be simple for your dentist to take care of this for you. Call your dentists office and let them know it is loose and request that they recement it.  The likelihood of it being although small, does exist.  I am sure your dentist will tell you the same thing.Cheers.Dr. Christian Yaste

Definitely have your dentist look at it. May need a new temporary made. The current one was probably compromised during the root canal procedure which is very common.
