I recently had a new zirconium crown fitted on my second last lower molar. The last molar has a porcelain cap. The new zirconium crown is so flush at the back and front that I am unable to floss around the tooth at all. My dentist says that this is by design so that food will not get lodged. Are the crowns designed to be so tight? Will this cause any dental hygiene issues later as I am unable to floss on either side of the crown?
