Hello! Some patients will experience a temporary increase in breakouts and dryness after their Vivace treatment. At 5 days you should be fine to add back more aggressive skincare such as retinol and vitamin C to help combat this. Remember, the collagen building effect from this treatment takes 90 days, so things should continue to improve. If you have any further concerns contact your provider. I hope this helps! - Dr. Brown
AS the Vivace inflames the skin people prone to break outs can break out. Be careful the products you are using are non comedogenic as many sunscreens and products post procedure can cause break outs as well. Consider a laser facial 2 weeks out or PDF to help control the acne.
Patients will often see breakouts just after vivace treatments. As everything comes to the surface, you may notice an increase in acne for the first few days. Once it works itself out to the surface your skin will be clean and clear! If you didn't use the blue light for your vivace treatment, I would suggest doing so on your next. This blue light will actually act to kill the acne bacteria during your treatment, minimizing this reaction. As for the dryness, some of my patients will also notice this. Some will even have a slight peeling. This is all normal and will subside in the next few days. For now, continue your growth factor and keep your skin protected at all times with a good spf lotion. Hold all other exfoliating or retinol products until your skin returns to its pretreatment state. This is usually in 1-2 weeks.

It is absolutely fine to have the two procedures done on the same day. In my practice I do the IPL first and the Vivace with microneedling right after. Good luck.
There are a few procedures to help with loose jowls, depending on how much tightening is needed. The Vivace RF is definelty an option. We have our patients do a series of 4 treatments, one month apart. Another option is dermal fillers--Voluma. As we age our cheeks slide down of the cheek bon...
