In 2014 I had routine inferior turbinoplasties (AKA "powered endoscopic turbinoplasty") which preserves the layer of mucosa that senses airflow. The doctor didn't resect the turbinates, and says that he hasn't had any patients with ENS. I don't experience any sensation of suffocating, sleep disturbances, or dry nose, but do have shallow, anxious breathing/anxiety. What is the incident rate for ENS for this procedure? I'm stuck with the negative thoughts that I've permanently damaged myself.
