Answer: Sleep Aids Dear Opiumdreamgirl, Thank you for your question. If you are unable to sleep with the pain medications your doctor has prescribed, Tylenol PM is an excellent option. However, if you are having concerns I suggest discussing further with you Board Certified Operating Surgeon. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Will Sleep Aids be Prescribed for Rhinoplasty Surgery Dear Opiumdreamgirl, Speak with your surgeon regarding your concerns as each surgeon has a different protocol. I personally prescribe valium for my patients to rest well after surgery. Many patients who have concerns with sleeping on their back will rely on sleeping on a recliner if they have one. I performed rhinoplasty surgery on my son a few weeks ago and he stayed in the recliner in the evenings, as he is not a back sleeper either. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.

Answer: Sleep Aids You might try Tylenol PM. It is doubtful you will need the Vicodin, as there is very little pain with Rhinoplasty surgery. Also, narcotic pain medication are uppers. They really do not help with sleep. If you are needing more than Tylenol PM, ask you surgeon for a prescription for a mild sleep aid.
