I am trying to get an appt with a doctor as I don't currently have a PCP; however I'm very curious to what may this be. These scaly patches have begun to appear all within the past month. They are on a thigh, an arm, my stomach and one of my breasts also has one patch as well. They don't itch or cause me any pain, but also won't go away with lotion or scrubbing and keeping the area dry.
Answer: Cryotherapy can help reduce appearance of these. Recommend doing Melapeels as well. Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Understanding Circular Scaly Patches on Skin Hello, Thank you for sharing your concerns about the circular scaly patches that have appeared on your skin. While an in-person examination is necessary for a definitive diagnosis, I can provide some general information that might help you understand what could be causing these symptoms. Possible Causes: The description of circular, scaly patches could suggest a few common skin conditions, such as: Tinea Corporis (Ringworm): A fungal infection that presents as circular, scaly patches. It can affect various parts of the body and is typically treated with antifungal medications. Psoriasis: A chronic skin condition characterized by red, scaly patches. Psoriasis can appear on any part of the body and often requires specific topical or systemic treatments. Nummular Eczema: This type of eczema appears as round, coin-shaped patches and can be managed with moisturizers and topical steroids. Next Steps: Since the patches are not responding to over-the-counter lotions or scrubbing, it's important to seek a professional evaluation. A dermatologist can examine the patches, possibly perform a skin scraping or biopsy if necessary, and recommend appropriate treatment. Interim Care: Until you can see a doctor, avoid further irritation by using gentle, fragrance-free cleansers and moisturizers. Keeping the skin moisturized and avoiding harsh scrubbing can help prevent additional irritation. If you have any further questions or need assistance in finding a dermatologist, please feel free to contact my office at 305-902-5733. We would be happy to help facilitate your care. Warm regards,
