Can l apply an oil and/or a moisturiser containing oils over my application of Retin-A?

l have very very very dry skin and just started using Retin-A 0.25%. I need a very rich moisturiser afterwards to relieve some of the dryness, essential oils also help. Is it okay to apply an oil, and/or oil rich moisturiser afterwards or is it essential not to use anything oil based afterwards? Find it very hard to find rich creams not containing an oil.

Yes, you can use an oil after applying your Retin-A, but I would wait about 15 minutes after applying it.  This will allow time for it to dry and not roll off your skin.  You may also want to stay away from the coconut oil, as it tends to clog pores if you have acne prone skin.

No one can tell you if mixing Retin A with moisturizers decreases the potency of the Retin A, or not. No good studies have been published on this bit of home chemistry. If you are concerned about dryness, use a lower strength Retin A, or, use a moisturizer the next morning
