I have a mole on my left nipple that has upset me for years. Help?

I am currently trying to remove it with ACV…its very sore and swollen now. Is this a bad idea and going to affect my nipple for life?? Please help...

If you are concerned about a mole please see a dermatologist this can be easily reviewed and assessed in the office. If a mole is changing I would suggest to consult with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Please see an expert.  This can be removed by shave removal or surgical removal by a dermatologist that is well trained. Scarring can be treated with lasers or microneedling, I also recommend using silicone based scar gels. I suggest consulting with an experienced board certified dermatologist. ...

Signs of infection include increased swelling, redness and pain, drainage/ pus, and increased temperature. If you have swelling, warmth, and pain I would suggest following up with your physician as soon as possible for evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer

Excision of the mole under local is easy and runs $350-500 and is so worth it. The remaining scar should look a lot better than the mole itself.

I suggest to follow your physicians protocol for post-treatment care, as his/her protocol may vary from mine. I have my patients use a silicone based scar gel with growth factors.   Best, Dr. Emer
