Is it safe for me to go sauna now ?

Once your wounds are well on the way to healing (3-4 weeks), a sauna should be fine. Heat (along with airplane flights) may increase the risk of temporary swelling of you arm if many lymph nodes were removed at the time of surgery. Sentinel lymph node biopsy in which only 1 or 2 nodes are removed, should not be sensitive to heat in the same way. Check with your surgeon if you are unsure which category you are in. I always advise my patients to avoid pools, treats, creeks, lakes and other water until their wounds are pink and healed.

As long as you don't have any open wounds, or areas I. The process of healing, a sauna should be fine. Be aware if you have had lymph node excision that saunas and hot tubs are sometimes associated with lymphedema (arm swelling). Ask your doctor if this is something for which you should be on the lookout.
