There are a few methods that could be used to remove a mole. If your mole is raised, it could be shaved off and not affect hair growth. It the mole was flat, it would need to be excised. The edges of the skin would be sutured back together, so this should not produce an area without hair growth.

A shave biopsy is superficial and hair may grow back again, but if the mole is excised completely, then likely hair follicles will be removed and permanent hair loss can be a result.
