Night sweating 3-4 weeks post op from liposuction. Is this normal?

I had liposuction (inner and outer thighs) 31 days ago. I usually have 1-2 nights of night sweats the day before & first day of my period. Last week I had my first period since surgery, & have had night sweats ever since. I have an appt to see a general doc next week, but starting to worry. Is this normal? I am going on 8 days w/ sweating at night, & I am concerned. Especially because I am now a month post op. I am 28 years old, so not going through menopause. I am 5'4" & 128 lbs (post op).

This is not a normal sensation after liposuction and should be evaluated immediately to ensure you have no infection or other complication post procedure.  Please see your physician.  Although hormones and other body changes/metabolism can change after liposuction it typically resolves in 2-4 weeks after procedure.  It is best to get a formal evaluation.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Do you have any other symptoms?are there any signs of infection?you may need a work-up from a physician but in the first instance it would be better to go back and see your plastic surgeon to make sure that everything is okay.
