I had a small mole removed 10 years ago and was left with a slight raised scar. I considered microneedling but I visited a dermatologist today and she mentioned the mole had come back…? Unfortunately she didn’t listen to all of story about how I was left with a raised scar afterwards. I feel I maybe need a second opinion as this has made me self conscious for some time now and I feel like today all my hopes have been put down the drain.

Answer: Mole Removal Thank you for your question. It is possible that the mole has come back as if any of it is left behind it can grow back. If it truly is a scar it could be injected with kenalog to try and flatten it. Keep in mind, a kenalog injection does run the risk of causing an indentation. You could try microneedling but microneedling works best on indented scarring. The other option is you could treat it with CO2 laser to try and flatten it out some. Hope this helps!
