Hi I got breast lift with implants 6 months ago, I got 320 polytech, moderate profile. Everything seemed ok till the third month, that breast started to drop, specially left breast. I had last visit with my surgeon on the 4th month and he did agree, but insisted we must wait for the year for a revision . What may have happened, and what would be the solution? Visits are always too fast and didn't gave me more information about. Collage is 12 days, 1 month and 45 days, other one from today.
Answer: Revision surgery Dear emeshar, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals. Answer: Breasts Implants do settle down in the first six months as swelling subsides and the tissues relax. This is expected in most ladies.

Answer: Breast dropping after surgery It is always best to bring up concerns with your plastic surgeon. A lot can change with a surgical result from what it looks like initially on the operating table and how it looks one year out. All breast surgeries drop some after surgery. The most common reason is because it takes about 6 months to sometimes a year for all the swelling to completely resolve. In addition, your tissues will always relax a little as they heal and remodel themselves. A breast implant puts additional weight/pressure on your tissues which can cause them to stretch a little more. Most implants start a little high and in a less natural looking position and over the course of several months settle down to a slightly lower more natural breast shape. An implant will almost never stay in the very high position that you see on the operating table. Actually, an implant that is sitting very high on the chest and feels hard is a sign that there may be a problem with your implant. If the implants are falling into an unnaturally low position there are some options to fix this, but I recommend most of my patients wait a year before revisions. If a patient has a lot of concerns during a visit that I may not be able to address within the appointment time, I ask the patient to write down their questions before the visit so I can review them and make sure each question gets addressed or I set up an additional appointment or phone call so everything can be addressed. Make an appointment with a board certified/eligible plastic surgeon if you have any major concerns about how your particular operation is healing. I wish you well as you continue to heal from your surgery.
