Do you think these scars will fade? (Photo)

Question

Hello, I had two accessory nipples removed exactly 16 weeks ago now. The scars seem to be fading a bit but not as much as I thought they would be by now. I’ve attached pictures. Do you think that these will eventually fade and turn white? The whole point of getting the accessory nipple removal was because they bothered me aesthetically, but now these scars are no better. I have been religiously using SkinMedica’s scar recovery gel twice daily. Thanks for your support!

I would like to inform you that scar healing process takes nearly 12 months after any surgical intervention. Staying away from smoking, avoiding direct sunlight exposure to scars and using SPF50+ will also increase your scar quality. I suggest you to be patient and obviously you are using scar recovery gel which is good.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.
