Extreme hair loss and frontal lobe baldness - what treatments should look in to? (photos)

Hi all, I am 35 years old female and facing extreme hair loss and frontal lobe baldness. I have had PRP done last year but havent seen much results. I got all my bloods done which were okay. Tried one of the laser helmets which not much luck. These days I am noticing thinning is increasing drastically and hair loss is extreme. At this stage i am unsure what to do. Not using minoxidal as trying for a baby. Can you please suggest some possible treatments which I should look in to?

-Topical treatments: There are topical treatments available, such as topical minoxidil, that can help with hair growth. However, it's important to consult with a doctor before starting any new medication.

-Supplements: Nutritional supplements can help promote hair growth, such as biotin, vitamin D, and iron.

-Hair transplantation: If your hair loss is advanced, hair transplantation may be an option to consider. This involves taking hair follicles from one area of your scalp and transplanting them to the balding areas.

It’s critically important to establish the diagnosis by seeing a board certified dermatologist who will do a thorough history and dermatoscopic exam of your scalp. While this certainly appears consistent with androgenetic alopecia or female pattern hair loss, other types of hair loss can look similar and may even coexist. A biopsy would be helpful in the event that the exam is equivocal. Assuming androgenetic alopecia is the correct diagnosis, a treatment plan can be designed. You are correct in that many treatment options available are inappropriate in the pregnant patient and this includes minoxidil, spironolactone and the 5 alpha reductase inhibitors. Platelet rich plasma, which you had before, is also generally not done in the setting of pregnancy due to the slight risk of infection, although you could get some sessions done while trying to conceive. I’m curious as to how many sessions you actually had last year, since one session would not be expected to have an effect. Typically, this is done three times spaced one month apart, and following that, each session is spaced three months apart for maintenance. In summary, see a dermatologist for a hair consultation and discuss appropriate options while trying to conceive.

A very good evening and thank you for your question. It's a very difficult scenario for you and the treatment can be really challenging as well. Please rule out P COD. Once that is ruled out I think the best option for you in this scenario is to go in for multiple vitamins and growth factor concentrate treatment prolonged for at least 6 months.
