I started using minoxidil along with biotin a month ago to stimulate my beard growth. There has been a good amount of growth during the period but my skin has started developing lighter patches. Should I stop the use of it or decrease the dosage?

It is not dangerous in the manner you have described as these particles don’t get into the scalp like this (as they are too big). But having Toppik on top can limit the ability of the minoxidil to get in. Ideally, the Toppik is washed off before applying minoxidil.
You may or may not notice any difference in your hair in stopping the Spironolactone however, you may notice changes in your skin as you mention that you have had improvement in your skin. It may be helpful to seek other treatments for the hair issue while continuing the spironolactone...
Hello and thank you fo your question. Long term and high dose steroid use can cause weight gain but this is more common while taking steroids orally. If you are under a doctors supervision while taking steroid injections the side effects are usually minimal. Best wishes.Dr. T
