Is it ok to apply Neosporin on a mole that was lanced off for a biopsy? (Photo)

The mole which was lanced off on Tuesday (3 days ago) was sent off for a biopsy. I was told to keep it bandaged up and apply Vaseline or petroleum jelly which I have. Attached is a picture. It is on my right arm above my elbow. It is the size of a nickel. I want to know if it is okay to use Neosporin in place of the petroleum jelly today because it is getting sore and it appears there may be a little infection in it due to the yellowness and redness.

I recommend following up with your cosmetic dermatologist for after care and pain management. I recommend a combination of growth factors, silicone, and vitamin c at this time with sun protection.  See an expert.  Lasers should be started in 3 weeks after procedure.  Best, Dr. Emer.
