Mole removed yesterday from back of my neck into my hairline, I’m experiencing a lot of pain is that okay?

I’ve had it ever since I was a kid and finally got it taken of yesterday it was done by a plastic surgeon and he surgically cut it off and then cauterized it and stitched it with dissolvable and normal stitches just because of its location. I’ve been taking Tylenol for the pain but its not really helping. I can take ibuprofen at 5pm today he told me to wait 24hrs. I just want to know if it’s normal to be in so much pain ??? it’s not unbearable but its pretty distracting
