What Should I Expect In Terms Of Aftercare Following My First Picosure Treatment?

I'm having my first Picosure treatment next week, and am getting nervous!!! What should I expect to experience after the treatments is over? How do I keep it clean without causing too much irritation? Is there an ointment you'd recommend?

After a Picosure tattoo treatment, there will be a "wound," there may be blistering and oozing; following the woundcare instructions from the center to keep the area clean, moist and covered to avoid infections.  Sunprotection is very important to avoid a pigmentation problem. Petrolatum or Aquaphor are what we recommend. Mild cleansers; no scrubs or alcohol or peroxide.  Ask the staff at the center where you will be treated.

Thank you for your question. After your Picosure treatment, you will want to keep the treated area moist with an ointment such as Bacitracin and a clean dressing. It is also very important to protect the area from the sun as to avoid pigment changes. Your treating physician should go over all aftercare instructions before your appointment ends. Best of Luck!
