The way I move my face when I speak has changed over time. I'm noticing more jaw tension and kind of a pursing of my mouth that creates these lines when I talk. I think I would prefer a more uplifted facial energy and a more relaxed jaw. Is this possible with botox? Is it advisable? Risky? Would it be an improvement or am I nit picking? I'm not certain but this might have appeared around the time I started getting botox in my upper lip for a gummy smile. Perhaps a compensation.

Answer: Will Botox help? Using Botox on your face, will not help you, but may create more problems. It’s not that your muscles are working in a different way, it is the fact that your face has gotten a lot thinner over time, and you have lost a great deal of volume in terms of fat. Presence of more fat underneath the skin hid the folds that you can now see. In my opinion, you can have fat grafting, which will restore the volume of fat that you used to have in your younger days, Fat transfer will get rid of these folds and at the same time make you look 15 or 20 years younger. The procedure of fat grafting, when performed by a plastic surgeon with a great deal of experience in fat grafting techniques, produces natural and permanent results. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery.
