Hi i had my breast augmentation on April 14 2023. 5 months PO I went in for an appt with my surgeon and they noticed my implant wasn't going to settle on it's own so he scheduled me for a second surgery to drop the implant. Unfortunately now the breast implant he dropped sits much lower than my right breast and shifts to the side. He said he can either drop the other breast or add stitching to lift it again. Would that help? Or would it drop again? Suggestions? Much appreciated.
Answer: Implants Your lower implant needs to be raised. For now, wear a good supporting bra to help lift it back up in place. Don't let it stay down.

Answer: Implant postion after breast revision surgery implant position after breast revision surgery. Typically it is best to wait 9 months or more after the initial surgery before attempting enter revision. This allows the tissues to stretch and settle into place and allows the tissues to soften and allow for additional surgery and healing. I would pick the breast you like better and match that one Capsulorrhaphy or closure of the breast pocket is frequently required during breast revision surgery. This can be performed in several different ways. The pocket can be made to shrink using a technique called Popcorn Capsulorrhaphy. With this method a surgical electrocautery unit creates heat to shrink the capsule. Much like plastic shrink wrap is used close around a gift basket. Another method uses Surgical sutures. I generally will place several of these to check the closure of the pocket and then place a sizing implant to see the improvement in the pocket shape and contour. When I am satisfied with that result, I will place additional sutures inside the breast capsule. If this is not the first revision and previous treatments have failed. Then I will immediately move to adding the addition of a Surgical mesh to help close and reinforce the corrected pocket. This will reduce the internal space and help prevent recurrence of the displaced implant.

Answer: Revision Your breasts are asymmetrical now. You will need to have the pocket plicated and moved up higher. You may benefit from both breasts being operated on. It is easier to correct symmetry when both are done rather than just one at a time. You may want to consider smaller implants. Your breasts are widely separated and you may benefit from medial dissection as well. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Missed diagnosis All eyes were on the obvious contracted implant, while little attention or thought was give the other implant, which was clearly also sitting high. This is an all too common error. The fix is removing scar tissue around the other implant, a capsulectomy.

Answer: Post op implants with question for dissection and positioning of implants or capsule contracture acute? Thank you for the nicely posted. Photos appears you either had poor pocket dissection laterally inferiorly on the high riding side or you have acute capsule contracture due to potential subacute, hematoma or other issues. Best to virtual consult with to try and determine the exact issues going on in your case. Revision surgery is indicated expect fees to range from $5000-$10,000. Again best to virtual consult with.
