1 year later large red bumps from lip fillers, migration? (Photo)

Hello Doctors, Please advise. I’ve had two injections, first time with .5 ML and then the second time with about .3 ML about 4 months later. Now more than 1 year later I’m seeing two bumps on my bottom lips that wasn’t like that before. They also look red especially when my lips are dry? Is this migration?

Migration of the filler in the lips is frequent if they are injected in submission areas. Scars around filler may create permanent lumps which need treatment. Use of corticosteroid like Kenalog should be the first option followed with direct excision of that does not work. Good luck.

I'm not sure how to explain what you are seeing, but I think it is unrelated to the filler. By a year, most of the filler has likely resorbed. It could be some sort of delayed inflammatory reaction, but again would be unusual 1 year out, unless you have been ill recently which can activate the immune system and present this way. I would recommend moisturizing the area well, with Aquaphor or Vaseline.
