Tummy tuck open wound: no compression or binder for 8 weeks, no scar treatment yet for incisions. Does this sound right? (Photo)

Question

I had a tummy tuck, lipo on my sides, flanks. bra roll 8 weeks ago. In the first week I developed a scab and open wound at lowest point of incision, mid pelvis. At its largest it was 5-6 inches wide, 3-4 high, now 2.5 inches wide and 2 high. My dr said stop wearing binder and no compression. I come in 2x week for xeroform and bandage. He says I have no other options and too soon for silicone for scars but vitamin E oil is ok. Not sure I trust his judgment at this point on treatment or results

Dear ameliechantal,I'm sorry to hear about your problems. It is not that uncommon that patients develop wound necrosis which is usually caused by decreased blood flow to that area. I would suggest you to follow your surgeon's recommendations.
