Can tight sports bras cause damage at 4 months post-op?

Question

For work purposes I have to wear an extreme tight fitting sports bra which almost flattens my breasts. I am currently 4 months post op. While wearing one of the bras, I felt pain in my right breast and when touching the outer part of the implant (underneath my armpit) I heard and felt a squishy sound. Could my implants rupture from this? I have 400cc silicone MENTOR moderate plus profile (memory gel) Implants. I went from a 34a/b to a 34D/DD.

It is unlikely your bra can rupture your implants. I allow my patients to wear and do anything they wish after 3 months, including sky diving, scuba diving, kick boxing, and body building. but your workout could have caused a tear in the capsule to cause the squishy noise you appreciated.  In the absence of visible changes to your mounds, I would not worry excessively but you can always see your surgeon for an exam and diagnosis of what may have occurred.

Thanks for your question!Unless your sports bra is tremendously bisecting the implant, it shouldn't be a problem. However, you should be seen by your PS for a physical exam. Best of luck!
