I want to augment my jaw angles and I am considering using Renuva. I found a surgeon willing to use it off label for this purpose. Can this filler be applied along the periosteum and be permament? Has any surgeon reading this ever used Renuva for this purpose?
Answer: Using Renuva in the jawline Renuva can be injected anywhere fat naturally exists in your body, so yes – Renuva can be used in the jawline. However, Renuva is a volumizer, not a filler and is not injected along the periosteum – it's injected into the subcutaneous fat layer. Though I typically use Renuva to diminish the signs of aging – such as facial hollowing and drooping skin – Renuva is also used to help contour. Renuva is also a highly-effective solution for camouflaging breast implant rippling, small volume buttocks contouring, smoothing liposuction irregularities and erasing cellulite dimples. It's best to consult with a medical aesthetic injector, who has experience with Renuva, about your jawline goals – to help determine if Renuva is the best option for you

Answer: Yes, Renuva Can Be Used to Help Shape Your Jawline. Yes, Renuva can be used to help shape your jawline. Renuva is used to replenish age-related volume loss in the face, hands and body, and to correct small volume indentations, like hip dips, or smooth breast implant irregularities. Because Renuva is eventually replaced with your body's own fat, you are left with long-lasting natural-looking results. I recommend speaking with your dermatologist or plastic surgeon about your goals to determine the best options for you.

Answer: Renuva to the jaw angles, advice? There are better fillers for this purpose. Renuva is fat and it may not look right for the angles. Both Radiesse and Sculptra are known to create beautiful angles.Speak with an experienced injector and have a formal consultation before choosing a product.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Answer: Dermal filler to improve jawline definition I would consider one of the hyaluronic acid based fillers (Restylane Lyft, Juvederm Voluma) or a collagen stimulating filler (Sculptra) for this indication. I think an experienced injector could use any of these 3 fillers to get you the result you are looking for.

Answer: Jaw Angle Treatment I am against "permanent" fillers. We all change with age and what looks great today may not look good in the future. The permanent filler may not be in the correct position then. I would suggest Voluma for the jaw line. It lasts about 2 years, and should you ever grow to dislike it, it can be easily removed with Hyaluronidase injection. Best Wishes, Maurice Vick MD
