I just turned 30 and noticed this line developing last year. I thought it was a result of some invisible aligners I was using, but it stayed and has gotten worse since I stopped my Invisalign treatment! This made me assume it is due to age. I just got my first microneeding with PRP done. I plan to get additional treatments but I would like to know if this will truly help smooth out this line or not?
Answer: Nasolabial folds -- Fillers (juvederm, radiesse, restylane, belotero), sculptra, lasers, microneedling/prp, ultherapy, threads you will need a combination of fillers, lasers, peels, and microneedling. at home peels and dermarolling should be started now. a combination of treatments is needed. at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (EmerageSkin roller with anteage AERIFY MD ampules weekly, see link) should be started now to prevent further aging. For facial rejuvenation, I would suggest a combination approach of 1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling 2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors 3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel/halo Viva, Co2/Erbium 4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill 5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting 6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest 7) deep microneedling RF like Fractora/morpheus8 for tightening of the skin 8) Vascular laser like vbeam/excel V or BBL forever young treatment every quarter (3-4 months) Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Microneedling Hi Thriving883660 Your skin will look luminous after one treatment, but we would recommend you have between 3 – 6 sessions depending on what you are treating. Scar reduction will need more treatments than fine wrinkles. A 2008 study showed that after the fourth session, collagen production typically occurs leading to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin six months after completing treatment! Answer: Fillers Work Well For Elevating & Smoothing Smile Lines I have been performing microneedling for well over twenty years. It is an excellent modality for treating mild skin texture and color abnormalities. It is NOT particularly effective, however, for treating wrinkle lines, etched-in skin or creases. As to PRP for aesthetic procedures, the jury is far from being in on its benefits, and to date, the results of using this relatively expensive add-on are typically variable, subtle, and in general don't seem to justify its use in a cost-benefit analysis. So, your concerns about continuing with these treatments is certainly justified. I have had success in elevating and smoothing the kind of smile line shown in the photo using fillers, such as Belotero Balance. Make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician. Best of luck.

Answer: It can help Microneedling can help plump the line with collagen production. I find best results for smile lines is lifting the cheek back up. You can do this by adding filler to your cheek bone, it will slightly decrease the line or thread lifting will completely resolve it!
