Hey everyone! I am considering doing microneedling with PRP for acne scars, wrinkles and eye bags. I lift weights six times a week and do cardio seven times a week. How soon after each treatment can I begin working out again? Can I workout the same day or next day? Thanks doctors!
Answer: Microneedling and exercise--add prp and lasers I recommend following up with your practitioner, but there is no down-time with microneedling. You may have some redness which is due to the histamine release. I find adding PRP decreases redness more quickly and we like to do microneedling with lasers to get better outcomes. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Exercise after PRP & Microneedling Hi SR2018. Depending on how aggressive the procedure is, you may be able to work out the next day or have to take a few days off. It's normally about how the face looks and going out in public vs. a medical reason for not working out. Infection is one concern, but we usually pretreat our patients with antibiotics before laser resurfacing. On a related note, we do not often see PRP and microneedling offer for eye bags. Eye bags, fat loss or protrusion of the fat pads are usually treated with dermal fillers or surgery, so it's very possible you may not get what you are looking for when it comes to eye bags and PRP/microneedling. Best of luck.

Answer: Avoid strenuous exercise for at least a day after microneedling. Hello, and thank you for sharing your question. While there’s no real downtime after microneedling with PRP, your skin will likely be red and a bit swollen or bruised directly after your appointment, so it’s best to avoid very strenuous physical activity for around 24 hours. However, check with your provider about their specific protocol, as every practice is going to have different recommendations. It’s also very important that you avoid applying any products to your skin until you get the okay from your provider, including cleansers.

Answer: Give yourself at least a day off of strenuous exercise. Great question, thanks for sharing it here. It’s best to avoid very strenuous exercise for at least 12 to 24 hours after each microneedling session to help reduce redness, bruising and swelling. If you do your cardio workouts outside, you’ll need to wear sunscreen, but you should never apply anything to your face before getting the okay from your doctor. All in all, you should be able to resume your normal workout schedule the next day.

Answer: Microneedling + PRP and exercise Hello Selfreal2018, Microneedling + PRP is an excellent treatment to diminish and/or improve the appearance of acne scars. Microneedling is a controlled injury to the skin, adding PRP to all microneedling treatments speed up the healing process. I advise our patients to work out prior on the day of their microneedling treatment, then to let the area heal for 48 hours before returning to their workout. Hope this helps!!
