How long do I have to wait to get PDL after getting a chemical peel?

Question

I am getting a chemical peel (either jessner or tca) to help even out my skin tone and get rid of red acne marks. I also want to do pulse dye laser to remove any left over redness. How far apart should I do both???

Hello,The pulsed dye laser is an excellent technology to address red-based conditions such as red acne scars, rosacea, spider veins, red pigmentation from trauma, red stretch marks, etc.  Being that you mentioned you were interested in receiving a chemical peel for these conditions prior to the laser, we would recommend passing on the chemical peels in lieu of the pulsed dye laser to meet all of your stated goals.  Chemical peels are not designed to address red pigmentation whereas the laser is.  In this way, you are utilizing your funds and time in a much better way as the treatment plan must match the condition for the best and safest outcomes.Please see the below link for more information on pulsed dye lasers and the conditions they treat.

Hi there. In some situations I have done both procedures on the same day, with low energy pulsed dye laser first. 
After a chemical peel, however, I would wait at least 2 weeks before having pulsed dye laser.

As mentioned, efficacy from pulsed dye lasers is related to destruction of blood vessels with expected bruising and unfortunately, potential for hyperpigmentation, hence the need to use such products. Link is provided for more information.
Pulsed dye laser can cause bruising and swelling and I precondition and treat my patients with a bioflavonoid product called Swell-x pt (post treatment) and also an oral supplement for PIH relief called Scler-X and I find them to be effective. Chemical peels should be reserved for hyperpigmentation or relief of some types of acne scarring, i.e. uneven skin due to scarring.
For hyperpigmentation relief we use a HQ and non HQ based creams in  the U.S. called Sclerovase and Scleroquin plus or Melarase by another company. 
Best to inform the physician under whose guidance you got these results.
