Hello there - I had a FUT about 5 weeks ago (~2400 grafts) and I’m still going through the thick my recovery (some transplanted hairs still have yet to fall out, etc). I’m concerned because I’m beginning to see balding I wasn’t able to notice before in the crown. It may be due to “shock loss” but is there even a point to starting Finasteride if the areas that I’m most worried about are already losing hair? Will it make a difference if, let’s say, I start tomorrow? Or is it too late? Thanks!

It is certainly unusual for the scalp pain and sensitivity to continue as long as you has. I frequently have patients who will experience scalp sensitivity and transient pain for a few weeks and rarely a few months. Yours has certainly extended beyond the norm. You have done the right thing by...
I have to say I do not see a problem with you donor area at all. It doesn’t appear overharvested. You may have some temporary shock loss in the donor area but this will soon improve. The key after a hair transplant is patience!
If you have to wear headphones post op please make sure it is not rubbing on the donor or recipient site for approximately four days. You might also consider a less bulky head phone immediately post op.
