CO2 laser treatment recovery rhinophyma?

Question

I've a case of mild rhinophyma with a few prominent bumps on my nose. 2 weeks ago, I've received Co2 laser ablation targeting those bumps only. The skin has since healed up but still remains pink. Unfortunately, all the bumps are still present and looks same/worse than before. Doctor says it's still healing and the bumps will swell down after a few months. Is this the normal recovery process of CO2 laser treatment of rhinophyma? Please advise.

Yes, this can be typical and it can take 6-12 weeks for laser results to settle. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care and skin care recommendations.Sun protection is essential. Lasers like Co2 work best in combination with other treatments in order to improve the skin's texture and collagen. After Co2, I recommend adding fraxel lasers, microneedling/prp and radiofrequency treatments. Best, Dr. Emer

hear about your situation. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is an outstanding
treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a single treatment. The answer to your question is that there is hope. Rhinophyma is a condition characterized by bumps on the nose and is commonly seen in some patients with rosacea. Treatments include ablative and non-ablative laser resurfacing. I tell my patients that the recovery after the treatment usually takes 1-2 weeks. My patients see initial results at 4 weeks, full results at 3-4 months, and continued improvement over 6-12 months. Patience is important. Please consult with a doctor for specific

Fully ablative rhinophyma treatments take a few weeks to heal, and if it is treated with Co2 redness will often last a few months. Photos will guide us as to the healing up process as well as the results, especially before and afters. As it was conducted only 2 weeks ago, I would do comparison photos at the 8 week mark.
