I'm thinking about getting liposuction and a fat transfer to my butt. My question is after surgery do I get to go home? Also How often do I need to go back to the plastic surgeon after that and what extra expenses (what else is needed) after the surgery is done. I'm saving up for the surgery but I need to know how much I'm going to need after it is done. Please respond. Thank you

Answer: BBL Recovery With Brazilian butt lift we transfer fat from one area of the body to the other. These fat cells are transferred in microinjections throughout multiple planes in the buttock tissue so that they can gain new blood supply and live in their new home, providing increased volume and shape to the buttocks. Postoperatively, no specific position is indicated and we do not have any sitting restrictions. The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so the postsurgical position depends basically on comfort and any other operations that have been performed. Patients use girdles for 6 weeks and start therapeutic lymphatic drainage and ultrasound massages in the liposuctioned areas, which continue daily for a total of 10 sessions. Patients can return to light activities almost immediately after surgery, normal activities 2 weeks after surgery, and vigorous exercise 4 weeks after surgery. We usually experience a slow steady improvement for 3 months or so after surgery.

Answer: Recovery BBL Thank you for your question. If you have someone to take care of you, then that will be helpful. If not, then some plastic surgeons offer home recovery care. You will need to ask your surgeon. Typically, you will have to follow up with your surgeon 1-2 times after surgery to make sure everything is okay. Best Wishes, Dr. Newall

Answer: BBL Hi, thanks so much for your inquiry. It is an outpatient procedure so if everything goes as it should be, you could be able to go home. You will need some medication(which are really not expensive) and a special garment that you will need to wear for at least one month 24/7. If you want to lay down on your back, I suggest you buy a doughnut pillow so you avoid putting pressure on your buttocks. Try to get all the prices and information when you are asking for your initial quote so you get all your finances going. Good luck in your PS Journey!Respectfully,Dr. Jaime Campos-Leon

Answer: Brazilian butt lift recovery and after care expenses? A BBL is an outpatient procedure, you go home or can stay in an after care facility. A couple follow ups are needed at the minimum. Your PS should provide you with a comprehensive price for all expenses. Seek a PS who performs hundreds of these procedures with lots of reviews an photos.
