Zeltiq has developed a number of different applicators to use with their highly effective CoolSculpting body-contouring procedure, which kills fat cells by lowering their temperature until they go into a slow-death cycle. The applicators that use suction only treat the tissue that is vacuumed into the head. Flat applicators treat the area that is being touched by the CoolSculpting panel. The effect does not extend beyond the applicator in either case. For best and most uniform results, we often create an overlap pattern when administering CoolSculpting. Please find a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert at CoolSculpting and has been certified as such by Zeltiq so that you can learn more about how to remove fat without surgery and find out if you are a candidate for nonsurgical body contouring.
The treatment area is the area that is able to be sucked into the applicator. Keep in mind, for best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. However, a Vaser with ThermiRF procedure is the best combination for a toned result, but requires more downtime. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question. The affected area depends on the applicator being used. Some of the applicators use suction and the fat that is suctioned is the affected area. Others are flat panels and the affected area is where the applicator lies. You should go in for a consultation with a reputable provider so they can fit you for an applicator and you will be able to see the size of the area that will be treated. Best of luck!
Your treatment area will depend on what applicator being use (older/new, bigger/smaller) as they are different sizes and both old and new suction differently and the older applicators it could be a matter of how pullable is your tissue away from your body. You may get a more accurate answer going in for a consultation.I hope that helps!
CoolSculpting's effects are generally seen in the area of the applicator. The older applicators rely on suction to expose the tissue to smaller cooling panels while the newer applicators have a more effective and larger cooling region. The diffusion of the cold generally produces a smooth transition from the area treated to the adjacent regions, but a fat pocket located outside of the treated region is unlikely to be significantly affected and should be treated with an adjacent application.
Hi, with the new applicators the cold dissipates around the border, having the contour of the body is especially important since fat is well insulting and does not travel too far past the actual freeze zone. Hope that helps, Dr Violetta Mailyan.
Hi need4speed,Basically, the area affected is the area that is sucked in by the handset. You tend to lose 20-25% of fat in the affected area.To make the fat loss more uniform, the areas are overlapped by a few centimeters. This way, the demarcation isn't too abrupt. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
Thank you for the question. This is curious and could be something concerning. Swollen lymph nodes are more commonly caused by infection and inflammation. Most serious causes like tumors or cancer can also cause swollen lymph nodes. This certainly requires further...
Sorry to hear you’re having a hard time after your CoolSculpting® treatment. It is unlikely that the CoolSculpting itself is the cause of your fever, but it’s always best to check in with your doctor to make sure there aren’t any underlying complications that need to be addressed. You might ...
Hi, I've never seen something that large after the procedure, but it's great that it's going down. More than likely it sounds like a hematoma. I would worry about any change in your voice or difficulty/pain with swallowing or fever. Make sure your provider checks it out...
