I am two months post op from breast reduction and lift.. No breast implants. My boobs are wide but are flat. Will they get fuller the more they heal or is this what to expect. I’ve spoken to my ps and he keeps saying let them heal. However, I feel as though he made me to small. I feel like they are wide but not full. I can’t even fill out a bra. They don’t are very wide but no fullness. Will they drop and fluff up? Please give me some advice.
Answer: Breast reduction Dear mello3132,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast reduction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Br I appreciate your question. This is a very common problem when an inferior pedicle breast reduction is performed. The tissue is removed from the top and left at the bottom. I perform a liposuction breast lift/reduction known as Breast LipoLift®. This specialized technique spares more nerves and blood supply as well as removes tissue from the areas you don't want such as near the armpit and the lower portion hanging near your stomach. Once I use this to shape the breast, I then remove the excess skin to tighten the breast and create a more proportional silhouette with better cleavage. This procedure is also more accurate than traditional breast lifts or reductions since I use 3D measurements to uncover size asymmetries. During the procedure I remove exactly what more from the larger side to get as close to symmetry as possible. Since I perform this less invasively the recovery time is faster and drains are not necessary. Over 90% of my patients are out to dinner the next evening taking only Advil and Tylenol if even needed. The size would depend on the proportion with your body versus going for a cup size. It has been proven to have less complications than traditional breast reduction (please see my Breast LipoLift® page web page) and should not affect nipple sensation, mammograms, cancer risk or breast-feeding. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in breast plastic surgery. Best of luck! Answer: Recovering from reductions can be challenging as it has been for you and its very normal to perceive yourself as too small since you were once too big. Focus on healing and know that if you truly need more volume to be happy, this can be achieved with fat grafting (at additional costs) done in the office and if you really need volume, then you would have to consider implants. But that would make me think that you really wanted perkier breasts and not the reduction that you ended up getting and that was presumably covered by your insurance.

Answer: Changes Two Months After Reduction We counsel our patients that the shape, contour, and volume or fullness of the breasts do change for months after reduction mammaplasty. At the two month mark, it is usually time to consider shopping for bras as most of the swelling has settled. The size does not change much after this, however the central portion of the breasts usually projects more and the inner and outer-most portions become less full. In other words, the shape improves even after two months. Your are wise to keep in touch with your plastic surgeon as he or she knows their typical healing and your pro-operative appearance. Best wishes.
