How soon after getting Hyaluronidase can I get Botox in my forehead and eye bags?

Im in the process of getting filler removed. The doctor is doing a little at a time. How soon after can I have botox. The filler removal is in my upper cheek lower eye area. Botox would be forehead and eye area. Im just wondering if there's any drug interaction between the botox and Hyaluronidase. Thank You

Hello and thank you for your question. It is perfectly safe to use Botox in the forehead at the same time you are using hyaluronidase to reverse the effects of filler in the midface. However, I don’t usually recommend Botox for eye bags, though it is a good treatment for crow’s feet. Make sure you are working with a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in injectable treatments to ensure an optimal outcome.

Thank you for your question.I would wait to do the Botox in the eye area until you are finished with the filler removal. If he is not working on the forehead,then you can proceed with treatment at any time.

Hyaluronidase is a useful enzyme/"antidote" to dissolving hyaluronic-acid based fillers. It will have no impact on Botox injections whatsoever.

Hello and thank you for your question.  Areas treated with hyaluronidase should not be treated with botox the same day.  I would wait until under eye filler issue has resolved and area is not swollen (1-2 weeks)and is healed.  If wanting to do forehead botox and it is not being treated with hyaluronidase then you can.  It is easier on the patient to do all botox areas at once!! thanks, I hope this helps you!

Botox in forehead can be done at the same time as hyaluronidase for filler removal in upper cheek/lower eye area. If you want Botox to the same area as the hyaluronidase injection wait a couple of days between treatments to allow any swelling from the hyaluronidase treatment to settle down before Botox is injected. Swelling in the area can cause spread of Botox to a wider area, which can produce undesirable results. Best, Dr. Tkatch

Botox can be done in the forehead area at any time since it will not come into contact with the hyaluronidase. There are no studies evaluating hyaluronidase and botox together, however you may consider waiting 2 weeks after hyaluronidase injection into the lower eye area before injecting botox into a similar location so the inflammation and hylauronidase liquid does not affect the distribution and effect of the botox.

Hi lynnd3, The area to be injected with Botox and the area to be dissolved are different and the effect of hyaluronidase is localized to the area injected. You don't have to wait if your Provider assures you that is is alright to have both done in one appointment; especially if by Botox for the "eye area" you meant crow's feet. If a few units are to be injected in the undereye (less commonly done), then you could wait until the swelling from the hyaluronidase wears off.All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
