Hi orangejuice23, Great question! In my opinion, because fat is injected in the face deep to the skin layers (above bone, below muscle, within different fascial planes, etc.) it should not be affected by any skin treatments such as a chemical peel. However, your surgeon may want the cannula introduction sites (the insertion points where the fat gets injected into the face) to be fully healed prior to doing any skin treatments. Additionally, they may not want the face to get manipulated or massaged immediately after fat injection as it may displace the carefully injected fat. You don't want that preciously placed fat to move somewhere it's not supposed to go! I perform both fat grafting and chemical peels in my practice, so I hope this answer was helpful. I would start with asking your surgeon or provider who performed (or will perform) your fat transfer if they have any restrictions. That way you can make sure you are complying with their specific recommendations and treatment protocols. Best, Dr. Deniz Gerecci MD Indianapolis, IN
