I had lipo 360 plus bbl 9 weeks ago. Unfortunately my butt is now flat and my stomach irregular. I also have fat left on my back and upper stomach. My surgeon says it’s muscle but I highly doubt that. What happened? I’m really upset...
Answer: Uneven after liposuction Dear MissM83,While there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. If you are concerned about the results of your surgery, I would suggest you to discuss it with your plastic surgeon or ask for a second opinion. Daniel Barrett, MD

Answer: 9 weeks post op lipo and bbl. Why is my stomach so irregular and what happened to my butt? After liposuction, surface irregularities are a known entity and are more likely to occur with revision lipo and or more aggressive lipo. From your photos, you abdomen appears pretty smooth. If there are small irregularities that aren't really evident in your photos, then you can massage to help smooth them down. Massage aggressively and daily. As far as having fat left on your back and upper stomach, it is too soon to really judge this. At two months you are still swollen. It takes 6 months to one year to heal after surgery. There are safety limits of how much lipoaspirate can be taken in one setting. In Texas where my practice is located this number is 5L in other states it can be lower. It is common with a BBL and liposuction to many different areas at once, the safety limit can be reached, but fat still be left behind. A second round of liposuction can be done after 6 months. In regards to the fat volume loss with your buttocks...we know that 30-50% of the fat volume injected to the buttocks is lost over the first 3-6 months after the surgery. This is normal. Some patients accept the fat better than others and we do not really know why this is.
