Any side effects of doing laser hair removal while taking Zoloft 50mg?

I started laser hair removal a couple months ago and just recently I started taking Zoloft 50mg. Are there any side effects? Should I not do it if I'm taking this medicine?

Although some medications can make the skin more sensitive to laser treatments, Zoloft is not one of them.  I’ve treated many patients on high doses of SSRI antidepressants without any ill effects whatsoever.  Having said that, it’s always a good idea let your doctor know of any new medications.

That said, ZOLOFT® should not keep you from getting this treatment for any reason. While it is a good question to ask, there are no issues with taking Zoloft during the course of laser hair removal treatments.

Yes it is safe to continue with laser hair removal if you are on Zoloft. There are many medications that make you more sensitive to the laser/sun but Zoloft is not one of them.  Always discuss with your provider if there is any change in your medication/health as this may have an impact on the outcome of your procedure.
