Is the pocket of fluid above right eyebrow normal? Are the different results normal? Should I wait to call the injector?

Question

I had 24 units of Botox, a year ago, in my forehead & between my eyebrows. On the 3rd day I was barely able to move my forehead or squint. The results looked amazing! 3 days ago, I had 25 units of xeomin in the same areas & I barely notice any difference & my right eyebrow feels heavy. It doesn't look droopy, but there is a small pocket of fluid above the eyebrow. I feel some tension when I squint or lift my brows, but I can still lift them as normal & see the wrinkles with & without expression.

Xeomin is a relatively new product so I am not as familiar with it as I am Botox.  Regardless I would give the product more time to work despite the rapid onset with Botox. I would, however, notify the injector about some of the signs you are seeing so they can determine a proper plan of action.

The onset of various neuromodulators varies by brand. Botox, Xeomin, Dysport all do the same thing, but take a different amount of time to begin working. I would wait another 3-4 days before calling the injector. Mild swelling is quite normal and should resolve itself within the first week. Thank you for your question!Kate Ross, MD

Next time gp for Botox.   I prefer Botox.  The other substance Xeomin works but does not have the massive track record of Botox.    This would be my suggestion.    And yes go and talk with the injector.      My Best,  Dr C
