Do braces straighten teeth faster than invisalign? What's the average time for invisalign and regular braces?
Answer: Time estimate Invisalign vs braces
For cases of similar complexity Invisalign and braces are roughly comparable. Invisalign can take a bit longer if refinements or midcourse corrections are needed, because that can involve new impressions and even a new computer simulation before the additional trays are made. If something needs refinement near the end of a braces case it is quick and easy to simply adjust the wires. Each appliance system has advantages and disadvantages and you should discuss these as they apply to your particular case with your orthodontist.

Answer: Invisalign can be faster than braces in many cases
Invisalign can be faster than braces in many cases. Although Invisalign creates movements with very slow incremental steps with each aligner, movements go generally in a straight line from point A to point B (the final result), whereas with braces it is not uncommon to have movements occur that are not directly toward the final result. This is due to many factors and explains some of the longer time frames that can occur with braces. Generally speaking if Invisalign is a viable option, the time in treatment would be equal or less than with braces.

Answer: Time frame of Invisalign vs. Braces
Invisalign usually takes longer to straighten teeth than braces. It’s hard to say how much longer without seeing your specific situation. A case may take anywhere from 6 months to several years to complete with braces or Invisalign. For most of our patients it’s about six to eight months longer with Invisalign. The trade off is that Invisalign is more cosmetic, but it does take a bit longer. We always give our patients both options and let them decide. Good Luck!

Answer: Invisalign May be Faster than Braces.
Invisalign is a wonderful alternative to braces. Depending on the type of tooth movement you may require Invisalign may move your teeth faster than braces. The beauty of Invisalign is that not only are your teeth being straightened but they can be whitened at the same time unlike traditional braces that can cause spotting around the brackets.

Answer: Invisalign is often faster.
On average, Invisalign treatment takes about 1 year. This means though that it can sometimes take less than that and sometimes take longer. The longest treatment I have done has been close to 2 years, and the shortest about 8 months.
Full mouth orthodontic treatment (braces) usually averages about 2 years.
