How long will swelling after Radiesse last?

I always inform my patients it takes up to 2 weeks for any swelling to settle, Radiesse is a thicker filler so you might even feel it tight or difficult to smile for the first few days as well 

Hi Rico.  The swelling is temporary and should normally last several days to a week.  If you have concerns after 3-4 days, you should request a checkup with your injector.  Good luck.

I suggest following up with your physician.  When needle injection is used there is more swelling and pain from Radiesse than most other fillers, because it requires a larger gauge needle.  Asymmetrical swelling, abnormal pain, or excessive bruising are all signs you should see your doctor sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, Radiesse cannot be reversed and lasts a significant amount of time, but there are things that can be done if you are unhappy with your results.  I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

Swelling does occur after using Radiesse. Typically the swelling, bruising and discomfort subsides after about 2 days. You should minimize strenuous activity and avoid extensive sun or heat exposure for about 24 hours after treatment and until any swelling or redness has resolved. If the swelling does not subside be sure to contact your doctor. 

Great question! It is very normal for Radiesse to swell for up to 2 weeks. Sometimes, patients have swelling a bit longer. I would schedule a follow up appointment with your injecting physician to doublecheck. Sometimes, we prescribe prednisone or medrol dose pak to help with excessive swelling.

The typical duration is six months to a year often based upon injector technique and location placed in the face. In my practice every cosmetic patient is addressed separately as there are no "cookbook" approaches even after almost 20 years of filler experience.We use many different fillers in the same patient to achieve a optimal correction. I would recommend you discuss with a dermatologist board certified and experienced in fillers in your area.

Swelling after Radiesse injections is fairly typical and usually lasts only a couple of days. Because your swelling is uneven I would recommend visiting your injector. 

I find Radiesse doesn't swell all that much in general, usually 2-3 days at most. More swelling in one location likely suggests a deep bruise, but best to check with your dermatologist to assess the area to make sure there is no infection. 

Generally there is mild swelling after Radiesse that lasts a few days, however I have some concern when there is significantly more swelling on one side than he other and would suggest that you consult the injecting physician to be certain there are no signs of and adverse post injection complication. 

Generally swelling after a filler injection lasts for a few days and should improve fairly quickly. If your swelling has persisted for longer than a few days, it would be best to call your injector and followup with them.
