Is 285cc to big for my small frame? I am 4 ft 9 inches and 100 pounds.

It would be a good idea to bring a bra in the size you’d like to be, along with a tight t-shirt, to your surgeon’s office. Try on 285cc sizers while wearing the bra and t-shirt. This will give you a general idea of how you may look, so you can figure out if that size is right for you.

Proper breast implant selection depends upon your measurements and starting anatomy.

285cc is usually not a very large implant but needs to be considered in proportion with your current presentation.

An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended to better evaluate and discuss your best options and expectations.

Breast implants are sized according to their volume in cubic centimeters (cc).

How do you know what size implant to choose? Looking at pictures and talking to friends who had a breast augmentation might help.

Off course the volume will depend on the shape and size of your actual breasts, your frame and the size you want to achieve.

When having a breast augmentation consult the most important consideration is tissue planning. Tissue planing depends on you tissue quality, breast dimension and chest dimension. You must take all three into consideration when assessing the patient to determine what size implant to pick. In my practice I use all three to determine the base width of the implant and then together we pick the projection of the implant. Lastly, I use the Vectra 3D imaging system to show you what you will look like with the implants that we picked. This has about a 95% certainty of what you will look like.

Overall the size picked maybe right for you. Without your pics it is hard to say.

At size 32 or 34, each 100 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. 285 cc implants would take you up 3 cup sizes from a B to a DD. They will not fit underneath the muscle and will extrude inferior and laterally. Another alternative to consider is fat transfers. Fat transfers are usually good for 1 cup size change. Implants are not lifetime devices. 8% fail within the first year and 30% fail within six years. Fat transfers are permanent and incorporated into the body.

Dear Resourceful636557, thanks for sharing your concerns, due to your characteristics 285cc seems to be a good choice, but of course sizes choices are a huge and thoughtful choice that takes many factor in count, your desired results, breast parameters, etc. First I do suggest an in-person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. 285 cc implants are considered quite modest in size. It would probably make you a small C. I think it is a good choice.

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

With your small frame you will most likely end up as a D cup with 285 cc implants. That certainly depends on how much of your own breast tissue you have. Sometimes it is helpful to do Vectra analysis of your body with renderings of how you will look with different size and style implants.
