Bruising and swelling are normal in the suctioned areas and usually increase slightly after the removal of any tape or foam. Constricting garments such as a bra may also prolong the process. In general: The bruising will decrease over 3-4 weeks, but may last as long as 6 weeks. The majority of the swelling will be gone within the first 3-4 weeks. However it may take 6-9 months to disappear completely. The compression garment helps reduce the swelling, and the longer it is worn, the more quickly the process will proceed.

Generally the acute swelling after liposuction resides in about 2 to 6 weeks. However further improvement in contour will ensue over many months.

The answer is a range of 3 months. But most are better much faster. Healing phase has a range that can be in general terms very hard to predict...

Hi and thank you for your question. The swelling from liposuction can take a considerable time to completely resolve. That can take up to 3 months and more to lose that rubbery feeling. That's why it's crucial to have the correct suppoetvr compression garment. If you haven't already done it, you should find a massage therapist that specializes in lymphatic drainage massages.They understand how to move the retained fluid towards the local lymph nodes.
